Arrrgh, matey! Saturday, September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and we’re going to celebrate like true buccaneers. If you’re looking for a little bit of extra fun for your little scallywags, here’s a few pirate events around Austin.

  • Free donuts at Krispy Kreme
    Enter a participating Krispy Kreme and talk like a pirate to get one free glazed doughnut. Or if you show up in full pirate costume, you can get a dozen glazed donuts for free. (Click here to see what qualifies as a full costume.) There are three Austin-area locations: San Marcos, Stassney Lane and Research Blvd.

  • For Grown-ups: Pirate Party at Opal Divine’s
    If you happen to have a babysitter scheduled for a night out, you might want to head over to Opal Divine’s Penn Field location from 7 – 11:30 p.m. for pirate festivities including a costume contest and live music from Shoulders and The Jolly Rogers.
