**UPDATE – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE THREAT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER. RESCHEDULE DATE TBA**
What are you doing for New Year’s Eve? We know that fancy, champagne dinners and dress-up parties are not always on the schedule when you’re a parent. Babysitters are hard to come by, and isn’t it just as fun to ring in the new year with the kids, anyhow? It sure is when there are fun events like Austin’s New Year party presented by the City of Austin!
You’re invited to attend the free, family-friendly community party in Butler Park (1000 Barton Springs Road) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 5 – 10:30 p.m. Adults and kids are encouraged to “Play, Make, and Glow” with interactive art projects, outdoor film screenings, and plenty of music including Brownout, Mother Falcon, Peelander-Z, Riders Against the Storm, The Invincible Czars and more. And you won’t want to miss the exciting fireworks finale at 10 p.m.!
You’ll also enjoy an interactive deejay booth, onsite screen printing, Nerdy Derby races, Polka Dot disco party, Dance It Yourself Nutcracker, and a making station to build a half Godzilla, half robotic Hello Kitty! — Click here for the full schedule of events! Also, be sure to follow and RSVP to the Facebook event page so you can stay updated.
Since this event is FREE, and all are welcome, ANY partners wanted to throw in a prize for our fans! Enter an email address below for a chance to win a Family Fun Pass to the Thinkery and 4 tickets to see “Flat Stanley” at the Paramount Theatre in January!
