Let’s celebrate Austin’s rich arts culture at an event packed with fun activities and performances! Ten area arts organizations are collaborating on the Austin Arts Block Party on Sunday, August 23 from 1-6 p.m., and everyone is invited to this FREE event.
The Austin Arts Block Party will take place at the Long Center (as well as some events at ZACH Theatre) and will include sample performances of upcoming productions, a Kids’ Zone and behind-the-scenes tours.
You’ll get a chance to learn about upcoming shows — and get exclusive ticket discounts — from Austin Opera, Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Shakespeare, Ballet Austin, Conspirare, Doughtery Arts Center, Pollyanna Theatre Company, Tapestry Dance Company, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, and ZACH Theatre!
Here’s an idea of what to expect:
- Visitors will be treated to previews from the upcoming seasons of Austin’s premier performing arts organizations.
- Live performances will take place throughout the day in the Rollins Studio Theatre and Michael & Susan Dell Hall.
- Back stage tours will give an up close and personal experience of what goes into staging a performance at The Long Center.
- Staff from each organization will be on hand to answer questions about performances or tickets
- Visitors can enjoy live music from 1-2:30 p.m. on ZACH’s campus in advance of the final performance of Sophisticated Ladies.
- Special onsales for the upcoming Blue Man Group, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Musical, and The Wizard of Oz
- All visitors will have the chance to enter a Grand Prize Giveaway which includes tickets to dozens of performances in the upcoming seasons of all of our participating organizations, a nearly $15,000 value! You can click here to enter the drawing online.
