Hooray for pumpkins, hayrides and corn mazes! Wondering where to take the kids to a pick out the most awesome pumpkin and to snap some sweet fall family photos? Here’s our annual round-up of favorite pumpkin patches around Austin!
–> Barton Hill Farms
Every weekend from September 24 – November 13, 2016, this farm in Bastrop will hold a Fall Festival & Corn Maze where the kids can get lost in a 5-acre corn maze, play in a frontier fort or climb on the giant shipwrecked sandbox. Hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 8 pm. and Sundays, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Also open on Columbus Day from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) They also have a giant jumping pillow and a barrel train for the kids to ride. Enjoy live music, farm animals, and of course, pumpkins, too. Concessions are also sold onsite. Tickets are $14 per person (kids ages 0-2 are free!). Save $1 if you buy online. –> Elgin Christmas Tree Farm
The farm will be open everyday beginning on October 4, 2016 for October Fall Fun. For $7 (for ages 2 & up), you get access to a hayride, animals to visit, mazes, mini pumpkin decorating, playgrounds, picnic areas, pumpkin photo ops and hay jumps. Their Open House will take place on Monday, October 10 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with $7 admission for ages 2 & up. Their Pumpkin Festival will take place on the 2nd & 3rd weekends in October (on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12 – 5 p.m.). The admission price for the Pumpkin Festival is $7 for kids ages 2 – 12 and $9 for 13 and up. Parents can enjoy the live music while the kids stay busy decorating pumpkins, competing in the rubber duck races and playing on the playground.
–> Evergreen Farms
In the month of October, every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and every Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m., Evergreen Farms in Elgin will be open for the Pumpkin Hunt where admission is FREE. You’ll get a wagon ride around the farm, access to a toddler play area, pumpkin recipes, pumpkin decorating (with purchase of pumpkin), a bean bag toss and a petting zoo. There are also other activities like a pumpkin hunt, pumpkin launcher, pumpkin maze, pumpkin slide, train ride, pumpkin golf and more for $2.50 per ticket. For $5 you can ride an authentic pumper fire truck around the farm.
–> Sweet Berry Farm
This Marble Falls farm offers the Fall Fun Harvest, open from September 24 – November 6, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., except for Sundays when the hours are 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., and take note that they are CLOSED EVERY WEDNESDAY. There is no admission cost. You can simply just pay for the activities you want to do or the pumpkins you choose. Activities include hayrides, a train, a maze, sand art, horse rides, stuff a scarecrow, face painting, giant jumping pillows and homemade ice cream made with the goods from the farm. –> The Jersey Barnyard
This Pumpkin Patch in LaGrange is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday from from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m. From the last weekend in September through October, they will have pumpkins, squash, gourds, decorative corn and corn stalks. Free pumpkin painting is available with the purchase of a pumpkin. Families can also take a tour of the farm which includes feeding animals, milking a cow and a hay ride. You can also take a self-guided tour for $5.
–> Robinson Family Farm
This family owned farm in Temple has a Pumpkin Patch with activities and special events such as a corn maze, hay rides, arts & crafts, animals to visit (such as baby goats). And you can be sure to pick out just the right pumpkin for your family. Open through October 30 on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. No admission or parking fee, but activities require the purchase of either tickets or a wristband. Wristbands are $10 per person and allow unlimited turns at all activities and one turn at pumpkin sand art. For families that would like to try just a few activities, you can purchase individual tickets for one dollar a piece.
–> Crowe’s Nest Farm
This farm, located in Manor, offers four Fall Family Fun Days this year: October 8, 15, 22, & 29! In addition to pumpkins, there will be lots of local vendors selling everything from fresh organic produce, eggs, honey, jam, and bread, to a variety of hand-made crafts, plus lots of special events, like raptor shows, snake lessons, a corn and potato cannon booth, and much more. Admission to the farm is $9 per adult, $7 for kids ages 3-12, $3 for 2-year-olds, and free for children under 2.
–> South Texas MaiZE
This pumpkin patch and corn maze is a couple of hours away in Hondo, Texas, but it is huge and worth noting. The season is open through November 15, 2016. South Texas Maize is open for Fall Fun on Friday evenings from 6 – 9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon – 5 p.m.. Admission is $15 and includes unlimited jumps on their bounce pillows, a cow train, a worm slide, a goat walk, campfires with s’mores, hayrides, and more.
–> Red Barn Garden Center
Their pumpkins are available starting October 1 at this Austin location. Their annual Pumpkin Festival is a free event that will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
–> Cross Plants and Produce
You can look for pumpkins in this Kyle location starting on October 1. The Pumpkin Patch will be open on weekdays (except Mondays) from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Kids can also enjoy visiting animals, painting pumpkins and having fun in their play area. You can also register for Storytime & Paint-a-Pumpkin on Thursdays at 11 a.m. The cost is $7 per child. Click here for more info.

— Bethany Pumpkin Patch: This Austin location will have pumpkins from Friday, October 14 through Monday, October 31. The hours are Monday- Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday from 9am-6pm. They also have Weekend Family Events with photo/picture opportunities, storytelling, a peddling tracker course, food trucks, coloring area, and other fun activities. Free admission to the patch. — Tarrytown United Methodist Church: The Pumpkin Patch will open for business on October 11 and will be open daily until the pumpkins run out. The patch is known as a great place for family photos. Call for hours: 512-472-3111.
— Kings of Kings Lutheran Church in Round Rock: The Pumpkin Patch will be open the 11th – 31st. Weekdays & Saturdays from 9 am – 8 pm, Sundays from 12 – 8 pm.
— St. John’s United Methodist Church: The Pumpkin Patch will be open on October 13 daily until the pumpkins sell out. For more information, you can call 512-452-5737.
— Bethany United Methodist Church: The pumpkin patch will be open October 3-31, 2016 on at 3-7 p.m. on Monday – Friday and 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday.For more info, you can call 512-258-6017.
— YMCA Camp Twin Lakes: The pumpkin patch at this Cedar Park location will be open from October 1st – 31st on weekdays from 9:30-12 & 4-7:15; Saturdays from 9-4, and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. They also host a Fall Festival with inflatables, hay rides, petting zoo.
