IT’S TIME TEXAS makes healthy easier for Texans where they live, learn, work, worship and shop. Check out these five fun events for getting out and getting active with the kids this week!

Youth Breakdancing
Every Monday, 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. @ South Austin Recreation Center
Stomp your feet, clap your hands, spin on the floor and get ready to learn some moves from former B-Boy City Jesse. Great for advanced dancers and those with minimal experience! Participants may perform at certain South Austin Recreation Center special events. For ages 8-18.

Sun City Farmers Market
Every Tuesday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. @ Sun City Social Center
Come out to the Sun City Social Center and meet the farmers who grow your food! We are a growers market consisting of 50+ members who grow and sell their produce and products, all located from within eleven counties surrounding Williamson County.

Running/Walking Club
Every Tuesday & Thursday, 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. @ Katherine Fleischer Park
The running/walking club is a FREE district-organized club made up of runners and walkers of all levels. The club can help individuals meet specific running/walking goals as well as offering an opportunity to meet others in the Wells Branch area for a run/walk.  The club meets at the large field in Katherine Fleischer Park and utilizes the beautiful granite running trails in Wells Branch. Kids are welcome when accompanied by an adult!

Dance Jam (for ages 3-5)
Every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. @ Center for Creative Action
Wake up your inner dancer and celebrate movement in everyday life in this class, taught by Forklift Danceworks. By creating and improvising movement, children draw on their inner resources, build their experience and self-esteem and engage their imaginations in a positive, creative outlet. In the words of Alito Alessi, “If you can breathe, you can dance.” $15/Class.

Geocaching 101
Saturday, April 25th. 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. @ McKinney Falls State Park
Learn all about the exciting new sport of geocaching, a high-tech treasure hunt using GPS units. Geocaching is a great way to explore new places and it’s the perfect activity for all ages. GPS units will be provided. Please sign up by e-mailing Ranger Jenn at [email protected]. State Park entrance fees may apply. Call ahead for details.
