If you’re on the fence about bringing the kids to the Austin City Limits Music Festival this fall, know that the organizers put a lot of thought into making it family-friendly. In the Austin Kiddie Limits area of Zilker Park, little music fans will find activities and performances designed just for them during both weekends of the fest, which runs the weekends of October 3–5 and 10–12, 2025. Plus, kids ages eight and under get in free with a ticketed adult (two children per adult; different rules apply for Platinum tickets — see details here).
Please note: Kids eight and under must be registered through ACL’s Tag-A-Kid program. It serves as their ticket and makes it easy for staff to help reunite families if someone gets separated. Get more info here.
Even if you’re just thinking about having the kids tag along for part of your festival weekend experience, you’re going to want to pop by Austin Kiddie Limits for a slightly more chill time for you and a kid-focused play and party time for your little ones. Within Austin Kiddie Limits, you’ll find a stage with a solid lineup of children’s performers as well as plenty of hands-on activities to keep the kids busy, which runs daily from 12 – 6 pm.

Here’s what to expect at Austin Kiddie Limits:
To access Austin Kiddie Limits, you can bring the kiddos through the family entrance off Barton Springs Road, or look for stroller-friendly family lanes at both main gates.
Activities:
- Lifeway Kefir: Have some fun with group yoga, probiotic snacks, and a giant mural for photo ops
- Hip Hop Workshop: Hip Hop House Party is back, inviting kids to write and record their own song alongside live performers, then share the finished track with family.
- Café Monet Button Station: Stop by this booth (20 years running at AKL!) where kids can get expressive by making their own AKL button to wear during the festivities. They will have plenty of craft materials to create their unique and personalized piece of art.
- Drum Zone: Come together at Drum Zone to create rhythms and beats together as a community. Parents and kids are invited to be part of this Austin Kiddie Limits tradition.
- Hairdooz: Pigtails & Crewcuts are back, getting kids rock star-ready with glittered, braided, spiked looks, and more.
- Tattooz: Get a temporary airbrush tattoo to go along with your cool punk hairdos and show off your rock n’ roll side at Austin Kiddie Limits!
- Rock Star Photo Booth: TK Photography brings a rock star photo booth where families can strike a pose and snap a keepsake to take home. Everyone leaves with a printed photo to remember the fun.
- Cotton Candy: Treat yourself to fluffy cotton candy spun by a playful robot, with more than 30 colorful styles to choose from.
- GoodPop: Have a little treat with GoodPop and know you’re getting real ingredients with less sugar and nothing artificial.
- Circus Performers: Circus Picnic brings playful stilt walkers, jugglers, and bubble artists to Austin Kiddie Limits, along with a treasure chest of circus toys for kids to try. Catch them roaming and sharing tricks from 1 to 4 pm each day.
