— Get some great deals on children’s clothing, toys, books and baby gear at the Fairytale Threads Consignment Sale. The huge sale is open to the public with free admission at Austin Sports Center from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. today (and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. tomorrow).

— Art, music, workshops, camping and plenty of creative expression all take place at Art Outside today through Sunday at Apache Pass, a 100-acre pecan grove just an hour outside of Austin. Their Kids Korner includes hands-on creating and children’s performances. Kids 12 & younger are admitted for free with a paid guardian. 3-Day passes are $139 and include all programming Friday – Sunday and free camping. — Before you see the movie, join the fun at the Goosebumps Family Party at 9:30 a.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane (as well as on Sunday at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline). Kids will play Goosebumps-themed games in the lobby and can take part in a giant book swap! Bring some gently used books to trade. And feel free to come in your spookiest costume. Party begins at 9:30 a.m., movie starts at 10:30 a.m. Tickets for the Goosebumps Family Party cost $13 per person, which you can purchase online here.

UPDATE: The Touch A Truck event has been cancelled due to rain. Kids can climb aboard a fire truck, big rig or bulldozer at a free Touch A Truck event in Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Children can explore vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, delivery. There will be a “no horn hour” for those with sensitive ears from 1-2 p.m. The event is FREE, but guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item donation to donate to the Round Rock Serving Center. — Take the kids to see their favorite willy nilly silly old bear on stage at ZACH Theatre! Winnie the Pooh is an adorable musical production for families with shows today at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. (and Sunday at 2 p.m.) Tickets are $15 for youth and $20 for adults. — The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center will host their annual Día de los Muertos event from 2-7 p.m. This big celebration will include a variety of activities such as sugar skull making, altar building, a car show, food vendors, performances and costume contests. — You and the kids can rock out with Alvin and the Chipmunks Live on Stage at the Cedar Park Center. Catch this music-filled, interactive show at 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. The world’s most famous chipmunk trio – accompanied by the Chipettes – will delight fans of all ages with song and dance, special effects, and lots of audience participation. — Show off your pumpkin carving skills at the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum‘s free, annual pumpkin carving competition from noon – 4 p.m. Overseen by “Professor Pumpkin” from the Texas Society of Sculptors, this event features community judges who will choose the most amusing, spooky, artistic and lovable creations. Admission is free, but please bring non-perishable food items for the Capital Area Food Bank. Pumpkins are generously donated by Whole Foods Market. You can RSVP for this event here.

— Your little ghost or goblin can help haunt The Long Center’s Dell Hall at 3 p.m. today during the Austin Symphony’s annual Halloween Children’s Concert. This concert features frightfully fun symphonic music that is stimulating for young eyes and ears (ages 2–10). The entire family is invited to dress up in their favorite costume and enjoy “boo-tiful” music. Tickets are $8-12 which you can purchase online here.

— Learn how to make sugar skull piñatas at the Mexic-Arte Museum​ during a Piñata-Making Workshop from 1-4 p.m. held inside the museum. Free and open to the public. Materials will be provided. (Today’s the final workshop before the big Viva la Vida Festival next Saturday!)
