— MERRY CHRISTMAS —

— Take a spin under the Zilker Holiday Tree in Zilker Park! Getting dizzy under the glowy lights is an Austin holiday tradition. 6 p.m. – midnight daily through Dec. 31.  Free!

— Take the kids to get their groove on at a free show from Big Don, Austin’s award-winning hip hop artist. You can check out the all-ages show at 10 a.m. at Strange Brew.

— In October, three orphaned cougar cubs arrived at the Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary, and now sweet baby Roxy, Willow & Oliver will finally be ready to greet visitors! The cubs will be on view today from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (and Sunday from 3-4 p.m.). Admission is $9 for ages 13 & up, $6 for children ages 2-12, and free for zoo members & babies under age 2.

— Get ready for a high-octane theatrical experience at Blue Man Group at the Long Center with shows today at noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. (As well as Sunday at 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.) Blue Man Group is known for their outrageous shows which combine comedy, music and technology. Tickets are $33 & up and can be purchased online here.

— The Alamo Drafthouse’s Kids Camp is offering several kids movies for only $1-3 admission during Winter Break. You can take the kids to see Annie (1982 version) at the Lakeline location at 9:05 a.m. & Slaughter Lane at 10:05 a.m.. Or go see The Little Rascals (1994 version) at 11 a.m. at The Village. You can choose your own ticket price and buy your tickets online here. 100% of ticket sales are donated to local nonprofits.

— Enjoy a Kwanzaa Celebration at the George Washington Carver Museum from 1-3 p.m. Join together in a recommitment to unity in our community, with performances by Elizabeth Kahura. This event is FREE and open to the public. Please RSVP to (512) 974-4926.

— You can take the family to a hockey game at Cedar Park Center at 7 p.m. The Texas Stars take on the San Antonio Rampage. — For a very unique holiday experience, check out the The Mutt-Cracker (Sweet!) — a show starring six rescued circus dogs, a performing parrot, juggling, unicycling, balancing acts, puppets, accordion music and a live jazz piano rendition of Tchaikovsy’s “The Nutcracker Suite”.
