— In the market for some bargains? Check out the ABC Sale for gently used clothing for babies & kids, toys, furniture, books, strollers, and other baby gear. The sale will take place at Austin Oaks Church today from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. & 6 – 8:30 p.m. (as well as tomorrow from 9:00 – noon & 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.) Free to attend.

Frame That Toon is a new art show opening tonight from 7-10 p.m. at Guzu Gallery. Over 25 artists created artwork celebrating their favorite cartoon characters, past and present. The opening reception is free to attend, and all ages are welcome. There will be music and complimentary beverages provided by South Austin Brewery.

— Take the kids fishing at the 3rd Annual Hooked on Mueller event from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Head over to Mueller Lake Park and catch one of the 2,300 rainbow trout stocked in the lake by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Enjoy games, activities, snacks and giveaways at this free event!

— Enjoy a family event full of hands-on science at the Austin Nature & Science Center from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Nature in Motion event, presented in part by 4-H Capital, will include such activities as solar cars, wind turbines, watersheds, vermicomposting, fish locomotion and more.

— It’s Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at the University of Texas.  Kindergartners through 8th graders are invited to an afternoon of educational fun. — Fly on by the Northwest Recreation Center from 1-3 p.m. for a free Kite Workshop. Learn how to make a kite for the annual Zilker Kite Festival while enjoying live music outdoors. Children will have the opportunity to make multiple kites and then fly them in the park. Materials and instruction will be provided courtesy of Communities in Schools and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department.

— This is the last day to catch zany Pippi Longstocking and her red braids at the Austin Scottish Rite Theater! See this children’s play at 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 per child (ages 12 & under) and $12 for ages 13 & up. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the show or online here.

— Looking for some great summer camp programs for your kids? Stop by the Summer Camp Fair today from 1 – 5 p.m at the Norris Conference Center, hosted by Nurture My Child. Meet 60 camps for kids of all ages with locations from Georgetown to New Braunfels. There will be a Lego building event and a raffle giving away weeks at various camps. Free admission and parking.

— It’s Community Art Sunday at the Center for Creative Action. From 2-5 p.m. you can join this fun, free event for kids of all ages. This month’s theme is celebrating music and the rhythm of life. Activities and workshops include an early childhood music and dance class, rhythm instrument workshops, artful instrument making, a chance to sing big with People’s Choir, Capoeira workshops, performances, and interactive projects for the whole family.

— It’s the last day to see The Sound of Music at Bass Concert Hall. Lexus Broadway in Austin, presented by Texas Performing Arts, has brought the national tour of this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic to Austin.
