Friday:

— Come to a show that educates kids about animals with close-up encounters from a ring-tailed lemur, a tiny hedgehog, an opossum, a prairie dog and more. It’s all going down at the Zoofari Wild Animal Visit at Toybrary Austin at 10:30 am for just $5 per child.

— Join Guzu Gallery as they celebrate the cartoons and toys from the raddest decade ever at their Children of the 80s exhibit! The grand opening will be from 7 – 10 pm and will feature an 80s/Synthwave DJ set and retro visuals. Wear your best 80s gear and get ready to teach those kids about the best decade, like, ever. If you can’t make it to this opening reception, the art will be on display until August 30. Free to attend.

— The Summer Reading Program Finale at the Lake Travis Community Library will feature Circus Chickendog, the “family friendly circus that is making Austin weirder.” This show features dogs and birds doing fun animal tricks while the ringmaster juggles, rides a unicycle and makes kids happy! Free, 2 pm.

Saturday:

— Get some delicious food truck fare at the Hill Country Food Truck Festival in Luckenbach, TX, open from noon – 9 pm. Sample great food, taste wine from nearly a dozen Hill Country wineries and listen to some great Americana music from artists like Milkdrive, Steve Poltz and Rosie Flores. Tickets are $15 per person and you can buy them here, kids 12 and under are free.

— Hang out by the lake, swim around, stand up paddle board, kayak or test your skills at wakeboarding all while listening to live bands at the Summer Sounds Series at Quest ATX. Twisted X will be providing beer and Mickey’s BBQ will offer delicious food. Entry is $10 per person, $30 if you want to wakeboard. Event is from 3 – 7 pm.

— The Beer by the Bay Festival at Horseshoe Bay Resort combines craft beer with great food and live music from artists like The Effinays, Jack Ingram, Bri Bagwell and more. Tickets are $59 for adults, $29 for ages 5 – 12 and free for kids under 5; you can purchase them here. Ticket includes all-you-can-eat food, non-alcoholic beverages and admission to all of the live music. Starts at 5 pm.

— It’s your last chance for a Deep Eddy Movie Night at Deep Eddy Pool! Watch “Despicable Me 2” from the lawn or the pool. Movie starts at 8:45 pm, admission rates do apply. Cost is $3 for adults ages 18 – 62, $2 for ages 12 – 17, $1 for ages 1 -11 and Seniors 62 and older.

Sunday:

— See “Hook” at the Family Film Series at The Texas Spirit Theater at 3 pm. After the film, stick around for a Q&A session with screenwriter, James V. Hart, and actor, Dante Basco (RU-FI-OOOO). Free.

— Celebrate with in.gredients at their 2nd Anniversary Party from 6 – 10 pm where you can hear live music, try some tasty samples and participate in activities like live screen printing, face painting, arts and crafts, lawn games, a petting zoo and more – all for FREE!

— It’s Kids Day at the Round Rock Express game at Dell Diamond! Game starts at 7:05 pm, gates open at 5 pm. Kids 12 and under will receive a free backpack and there will be pre-game events outside the stadium. Stick around after the game to run the bases! Tickets are $7 – $16 and you can buy them here.
