Austin Gorilla Run

gorilla

Can you hear the thundering footfalls and chest beating? It’s the beasts. And they’re calling…you!

Time to channel your inner primate and join the pack for the Austin Gorilla Run this Saturday, Jan. 25 at 9 am at Mueller Browning Hangar. In a perfect marriage of all that is Austin – fitness and weirdness – this 5K race is the chance to do a short, easy run with your friends and family while benefitting mountain gorillas. All runners actually run as gorillas, sporting the latest gorilla-suit fashions as they beat through the “jungle” (okay, the streets of Mueller) to the finish line. There are suits for kids and adults alike, and when it’s all over you can be the party animal you always dreamed of being at the after party. What’s more, participants (21 and over of course) get a free Silverback Pale Ale from Thirsty Planet AND get to keep the gorilla suits!

Packet-Pick-UpEntry fees until Thursday, Jan. 23 are:

  • First Time Adult Gorilla – $99.95
  • Returning Adult Gorilla – $40
  • First Time Little Gorilla (12 and under) – $30
