There is a school in East Austin that you may not be familiar with. East Austin College Prep is dedicated to sending 100 percent of its students to college, and it’s a free public school with open enrollment for any child in Travis County! Say whaaat? Exactly. If you’re as curious as we are, you can check out their upcoming Open House events!
There are two EAPrep campuses, one for grades 2 – 6 and one for grades 7 – 11. Both of them will be holding an Open House this month:
- Thursday, Jan. 23, 6:30 – 8 pm -> at the Southwest Key Campus will be for grades 2 – 6.
- Tuesday, Jan. 28, 6:30 – 8 pm -> at the MLK Campus for kids in grades 7 – 11.
EAPrep’s mission is to grow a better East Austin, one student at a time. The tuition-free school offers an extensive curriculum which covers all the STEM fields. In addition, it offers a multitude of extracurricular activities like sports, the arts, and technology. Community service is also at the core of EAPrep as students are involved in ongoing projects as part of the community’s revitalization projects.
