If you’ve got some big home improvement projects to tackle this year, a visit to Austin’s Home and Garden Show might just give you some inspiration and motivation. The annual show takes place Friday, Jan. 16 through Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Austin Convention Center. Kids ages 16 and younger are free to attend, but if you’re worried about keeping them happy as they tag along, check out these kid-focused activities on the schedule (listed below).

Friday, Jan. 16:

  • Arts & crafts by Macaroni Kid  — all day

Saturday, Jan. 17

  • Live appearance by Ninja Turtle, Michelangelo, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Spin art & remote control models by Bricks 4 Kidz — all day

Sunday, Jan. 18

  • Face Painting by GlitteRee — noon – 4 p.m.

Activities Throughout the Weekend:

  • Working With Bamboo Craft: Basic instructions of tools used with bamboo and how to split bamboo.
  • Bamboo Bead Making: Instruction on details of making bamboo beads & jewelry.
  • Movie Time: Various Disney movies will be playing throughout the weekend.
  • Color Time: Coloring Home & Garden sheets.
  • Plant Time: Little Pots to be planted with spring flowers and vegetables.
