Time to show off your tie-dyes, flower crowns and good vibes! To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the Austin Public Library will share peace, love and air conditioning as it hosts a special indoor Woodstock tribute — a nod to the spirit of Woodstock that has heavily influenced musicians, artists and Americans for generations. APL’s Woodstock 50 is a series of events that culminates with a big, free Tribute Concert from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 17 featuring music from Guy Forsyth, Sho Humphries, Deezie Brown, SaulPaul, Sarah Sharp, Brian Scartocci, Bob Cheevers, and Rochelle and the Sidewinders.

Friday, August 16:
- Branch Library Celebrations & Storytimes — various branches/times
Fun activities include making mini musical instruments such as a rainbow tambourine, making paper flower crowns, or completing mosaic sticker puzzles. Events take place from 3-6 p.m. at Manchaca Road Branch, Old Quarry Branch, and St. Johns Branch, but to confirm and find specific info about participating locations & times, visit the APL website’s events calendar.
Saturday, August 17:
- Ice Cream Social & Spin Art — 1-2 p.m., Central Library
While you’re waiting for the Woodstock Tribute concert to start, chill outside the event center with some groovy ice cream and make fab spin art craft. With the magical spin art machine, LPs and 78RPM records will be transformed into works of art for you to take home. - Woodstock 50 Austin Tribute Concert — 2-6 p.m., Central Library
A special Woodstock-inspired lineup by local Austin musicians featured in Electric Lady Bird, APL’s streaming music platform. The performances also will be broadcast live on 91.7 FM KOOP..
Sunday, August 18:
- Hippie Classics — 12 – 6 p.m., Recycled Reads
Celebrate Woodstock with groovy music and books, along with arts & crafts and a special photo opp. Free!
