It’s time again for one of our favorite events for a fun family day trip — the 10th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire! This Medieval-themed Faire is located about an hour from Austin in McDade, Texas, and is set in a charming 23-acre wooded village that features shoppes, pubs, restaurants and stages and games. The the forest abounds with Robin Hood’s merry men, pirates, nobles and plenty of merriment. Enjoy faeries, swordplay, theatre, magic, comedy, and more on Saturdays and Sundays through April 21 from 10 a.m. – dusk.
The Sherwood Forest Faire is such a fun and magical event! Feel free to dress in costume to feel right at home as you stroll through the village featuring over 170 merchant artisan shops. Enjoy entertainment from 40+ stage with 150 live performances every day, as well as live jousting and falconry shows, all while you gnaw on a giant turkey leg and sip some grog.
The kids can play carnival games, enjoy a petting zoo, join a parade, watch a puppet show, and enjoy rides. For the full entertainment schedule, click here. And click here to read all about our experience taking the kids to a previous Faire.
