One of our favorite day trips is back again this spring! The Sherwood Forest Faire begins March 1 and is open every weekend through April 20. This Medieval-themed Faire is packed with merriment and features more than 150 live performances per day and more than 170 artisans.
Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway! The winner of the Family Four Pack to Sherwood Forest has been contacted.
Located about 35 miles east of Austin in McDade, Texas, Sherwood Forest Faire is a 25-acre wooded village that features shops, pubs, restaurants, stages, and games. The forest abounds with jousting, swordplay, theatre, archery, juggling, magic, comedy, and more! The Faire is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am – dusk through April 20, and also on Friday, March 21.
Guests are encouraged to dress in costume for this magical event. Peruse the artisan shops, and enjoy food stalls full of turkey legs, mead, and delicacies from the days of yore. See demonstrations like glass blowing, blacksmithing, pottery spinning, leather armor making, weaving, jewelry, and art creation. You also won’t want to miss the many performing artists like jugglers, magicians, storytellers, and more, both on stage and strolling the grounds.
The kids can play carnival games, enjoy a petting zoo, watch a puppet show, and enjoy a variety of rides. For the full entertainment schedule, click here. And click here to read all about our experience taking the kids to a previous Faire.
