Join the Friends of Austin State Supported Living Center at the 3rd annual Spooktacular on Sunday, Nov. 2. This family-friendly event includes a 5K run/walk and a Kids K at 9 a.m. as well as a Fall Festival for the community from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with arts and crafts, a petting zoo, carnival games and more!

spooktacular-logoThe Spooktacular 5K and Fall Fest is a great chance for the Austin community to learn about the 260 residents of Austin State Supported Living Center who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Center provides a wide range of individualized training and recreational programs for its residents. They provide aid and support to individuals in order to increase their independence and improve their quality of life. Among the benefits received by people residing on the campus are comprehensive medical and psychiatric services, occupational therapies, speech and physical therapies, vocational training, life skills training, recreation, community inclusion (shopping, dining, recreation, sports, etc.) and much more.

— About the Fun Run:
The 5K is a chip-timed run, and awards will be presented to the top finishers. Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for kids ages 13 and under and includes a t-shirt, race bib, and 5 fall festival tickets. Kids K registration is $10 and includes a youth t-shirt, race bib, and finish-line medal. You can register online in advance here.

— About the Fall Festival:
Tickets will be available to purchase at the event for $1 each, and $20 wristbands will be sold for unlimited access to the fall festival activities (excluding food & drink). The music and great atmosphere is provided free of charge! You can also enter to win one of several prizes including a $250 gift certificate to Russell Korman, a weekend stay at Embassy Suites, free bowling at Dart Bowl, and more!
