Here at Do512 Family, we strive to keep you informed about all of the latest, coolest events for kids in Austin, but in our current situation, our focus right now is on health and safety in Austin. Community gatherings of 250 people or more anywhere in Austin-Travis County have been prohibited for the next few weeks. So this week, we’ll do our best to keep you informed about spring event cancelations and focus on ways to enjoy Austin while keeping a safe social distance.

So to start, we invite you to join us to simply pause and go out in the fresh air to stop and smell the… bluebonnets.

In a time where so many things feel uncertain, here’s something that we can rely on right now — the blooming of our beloved bluebonnets. Our beautiful blue wildflowers say “on with the show”, and we’re grateful for the annual joy they bring!

Please hold tight with us as we try to keep our events’ calendar up-to-date as best we can and provide you with a variety of suggested hikes and activities to do at home, but in the meantime, we are asking you to join us during Spring Break in a bluebonnet appreciation week. Make some time to go out and seek a patch of these wildflowers (here’s some suggested spots) and share your photo on Instagram (if you are so inclined) with #do512family or tag us @do512family. We’ll share these photos over the break and spread some much-appreciated happiness with each other at this unusual time. In true Do512 Family fashion, we will also throw some prizes into the mix! We’ll pick some tagged photos at random to win some surprise goodies.

Enjoy your break! Cherish some giggles with your kids. Have some time in the great outdoors. Please follow all CDC recommendations on staying safe and healthy.

And share your bluebonnet appreciation photos with us on Instagram!

— Much love from your pals at Do512 Family
