On Saturday, October 10 kids are in for a really fun time at a Bubble Blowout at The Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. As part of their monthly Second Saturdays are for Families series, everyone’s invited to this free event where kids can learn how to sculpt a unique bubble wand, test their bubble-making skills, then catch a magical performance by a local bubble artist!
This Bubble Blowout is inspired by the foam-tastic new artwork, Roger Hiorns’s A retrospective view of the pathway, on the grounds of Laguna Gloria.
Artist Roger Hiorns’s interactive foam sculpture will be activated at 1p.m., so come prepared to play in the bubbles!
Please note, the foam used in Hiorns’s artwork is nontoxic and biodegradable. Please use caution if you have sensitivities to detergent-based materials. We invite you to interact with the installation at your own risk. Guests are encouraged to wear clothes that can get wet or messy and to bring towels and a change of clothes.
–> Admission is now Free! Previously, the Contemporary Austin’s Second Saturdays series required admission fees, but now thanks to sponsorship by HomeAway, these events are FREE! Mark your calendars for these future events, too:
