Your young nature lovers can have a blast this summer at Camp Balcones, Camp Fire’s summer day program at Emma Long Park! This nature and science camp for ages 6-12 sparks curiosity and inspires learning with weekly STEM-based nature and science themes and plenty of hands-on activities. Your kids can explore nature, identify plants and animals, and have fun with some unstructured play time, too. Campers will be in great care as they also go swimming, canoeing, hiking, try archery and play games.

Camp Balcones is offered for 8 weeks during the summer, beginning on June 3th, 2019, with sessions running Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Camp Balcones offers extended pick up at 6 p.m. for those in need of more time. Please note that this program is for campers who have completed Kindergarten.

You can choose from four unique weekly STEM-based themes which incorporate project-based activities:

  • Lone Star Week– Natural History of Texas
  • Astronomy
  • Camping 101
  • Water Week
