– Monday, Dec. 16 –

Elf Quote-Along at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline -> To celebrate this magical little movie about an elf trying to figure out Manhattan, the Drafthouse will have jingle bells for everyone, bubbles for a few key scenes and a present for whoever can eat their spaghetti the fastest. Show is at 7 pm, tickets are $12.

– Tuesday, Dec. 17 –

Santa’s Workshop for ages 2 – 5, Photo Keepsakes, at Toybrary Austin -> You and your little can create photo keepsakes to give as gifts or add to your holiday decor. Bring photos or take some at the workshop (a camera & printer will be available). Use the picture to make snowglobes and ornaments. From 10 – 11 am, class is $10, register here.

—  La Pastorela 2013 “A Shepherdela’s Storia” – This bilingual play is an invitation to celebrate the holidays by gathering people from different origins, races, genders and ages to accompany shepherds on their way to their destination. This fun Christmas comedy features live music and an original stage design from renowned artist Claudia Montero. Playing at the MACC, tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 13 and younger and you can buy them here or at the theater box office, show is at 8 pm.

Make a Snowman with Air Dry Clay at Safari Champ -> Make your own snowman with the crafters of Move Make Create. Activity is from 10:30 – 11:30 am and costs $5. Safari Champ admission is required to attend ($10 total).

– Friday, Dec. 20 –

Cookies for Santa Story Time at the Art Garage -> Paint a Santa cookie plate and enjoy a story time. $12, register by calling 512-852-9900.

Little Elves at Cedar Park Recreation Center -> Drop your child off for a fun afternoon of crafts, story times and snacks. Ages 3 – 7 will make a gingerbread house, an ornament, a marshmallow snowman and more. They can wear their PJs if they want! From 3 – 6 pm, $25, register here.

– Saturday, Dec. 21 –

— Puppet Improv Project’s “Elf Employment” – The Puppet Improv Project rings in the season with a relaunch of its musical Elf Employment. The colorful cast of imps and woodland creatures will get help from the audience and craft a story about the life of elves in Santa’s Workshop as they set out on an adventure through a winter wonderland. Starts at 6 pm at the Institution Theater, you can purchase your $7 tickets here or at the box office.

Holiday Kids Camp at The North Door -> Kids can make and take a slew of crafts such as cotton ball Santas, ornaments, Christmas trees with cone cups, bookmarks, cards, wreaths and more. They’ll also watch a movie and have a pizza party! You can drop them off and get your shopping done, or hang out in the Parent’s Lounge and enjoy a drink. From 10 am – 2 pm, $30, register here.

Mini Canvas Ornaments at Smudge Studios -> Make two mini canvas collage ornaments using vintage wrapping paper, paint and embellishments. From 11 am – 12:30 pm, all ages welcome, $25, register here.

Santa’s Workshop at Millie & Mox -> Santa will be on-hand at Millie & Mox  from 11 am – 5 pm, Dec. 14,15, 21, 22 & 23. Photos cost $10. Enjoy refreshments and their super cute Santa setup!

Make an Ornament with Santa at the Arboretum -> Get crafty with the big guy and make holiday ornaments while enjoying a story time and photos. Free, 1 – 4 pm, near Christmas tree between Amy’s Ice Creams and Restoration Hardware.

Family Day, “Neon Christmas Tree” at Painting with a Twist -> Bring your own snacks and drinks and get step-by-step instruction from a local artist on how to complete a specific painting in 1.5 hours. Class is from 12 – 1:30 pm, $25 per person, register here.

– All Week Long –

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar at the Palmer Events Center -> Shop til you drop! Open from 11 am – 11 pm from now until Dec. 24, you can peruse the goods of nearly 200 artisans and hear some awesome live music. The bazaar is $7 for adults, kids 12 and under are free.

Ice Skating on the Plaza at Whole Foods Downtown -> For $10 a person, you can skate on the rooftop plaza of the Whole Foods Downtown location at 6th and Lamar, open from 11 am – 9 pm everyday until Jan. 11.

Austin Trail of Lights at Zilker Park -> The Trail of Lights opens every night at 7 pm until Sunday, Dec. 22. The trail is free, though you can purchase a ZiP Pass that will get you in early or let you skip the line. Every night features tons of vendors and live music and performance acts. See thousands of lights and end your route at the Zilker Tree and take a spin!
