Cirque du Soleil: Varekai will be in Austin for one week, performing at the Cedar Park Center. Varekai, the latest show by the internationally celebrated performance group, is set at the summit of a volcano and deep within a forest that is inhabited by whimsical and enchanted creatures.
According to Cirque de Soleil, “The word Varekai (pronounced ver·ay·’kie) means “wherever” in the Romany language of the gypsies, the universal wanderers”. Directed by Dominic Champagne, this production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to those who quest with infinite passion along the path that leads to Varekai. With it’s fantastic costumes and make up, amazing acrobatics, and fanciful creatures this show promises to be visually stunning and a must see for the whole family.
