Give children the opportunity to hone their culinary skills this summer! Not only is it fun to be mixing and tasting in the kitchen, there’s plenty of opportunity to learn about nutrition and other cultures, too. Experts at Pinny and Trowel Cooking School are offering a variety of weekly Cool Kids Do Cook Camps this summer for ages 5-14.

Cooking allows children to take control of their health, it is a life skill and one they can pass on through the generations. Meal times and food are an essential part of the fabric of the family, memories and events. Why not get kids started in the kitchen at an early age?

With Cool Kids Do Cook Camps, students can sign up for different weekly fun sessions where they will learn about seasonal foods, recipes, history and traditions, and enjoy craft time, too. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Pinny and Trowel, located  at 10415 Old Manchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78748. Kids will be grouped by age and will work on kitchen skills and food safety. To help them remember their camp, they will create a scrapbook with all the recipes and photo’s of their progress that week.

Choose from a variety of Summer Camp cooking categories such as baking, candy making, or preparing an English afternoon tea. Or they can sign up for sessions exploring the cuisines of England, France, Italy, Scotland, Ireland or Spain.
