Dig In! Archeology Day 2015

In celebration of Texas Archeology Month, the French Legation Museum is hosting Dig In! — a free, fun event for kids on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 1-5 p.m. Children will get to excavate artifacts in a mock dig plus many more hands-on activities.

At the Dig In! event, kids can:

  • Excavate artifacts in a mock dig
  • Display excavated artifacts in a mock museum
  • Learn about layering with a stratigraphy activity
  • Piece it together with a pot sherd activity

frenchlm10292009023804_posterThe grounds of the French Legation provide a gorgeous place to hang out and enjoy a picnic or some leisurely family time no matter what day you visit. But with free activities, this sounds like an extra special reason to go.

Tours of the house will be given at the regular admission fees of $5 per person and are offered at 1:15, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00pm.
