Explore UT, the “Biggest Open House in Texas”, is Saturday, Mar. 1, from 11 am – 5 pm at the University of Texas at Austin. It’s completely FREE and you don’t have to register for anything.

There are hundreds of events, for all age groups. It’s a lot of information to take in, but the Explore UT site has made it super easy. They have divided programs into six color-coded “Realms of Discovery with an appropriate age group included in each description. You can search for activities by category, then add them to your schedule, print it out and have an awesome day!

You will need to get familiar with the Explore UT map (this is where that color-coding comes in handy) so that you can plan your day accordingly. Events will be held at various locations throughout the UT campus, and unless you went there, you’re going to want to figure out where you’re going ahead of time.

There are over 600 events at this open house, which can sound overwhelming. But once you figure out the website it’s super easy to make a schedule that is perfect for your family. For example, we searched Arts Adventure for learners 8 – 11 years old and four events were found. That’s a whole lot easier than scanning through the 600+ to try and find a good fit!

As with any giant, free event held in Austin, parking will be rather daunting. For a list of area garages, prices, and other info – click here.

We hope this helps make your day simple and fun. Have fun exploring!
