New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve at Main Event -> All-You-Can-Play FUN costs $17.95 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and $21.95 from 4 p.m. – 1 a.m. Price includes as much bowling, billiards, laser tag and more as available AND free party favors while supplies last. Price does NOT include bowling shoes, socks, arcade games or tax. Call 512-401-000 for more information.

Noon Year’s Eve Jump at Pump it Up Austin -> Come bounce and play from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. There will be a count down at 12 p.m. so kids can ring in the New Year! Celebrate the coming year with glow lights, noise makers, hats and tons of fun for just $8 per child A signed safety waiver and socks are required to play. Space is available, click here to reserve now.

Noon Year’s Eve at Pinballz Arcade -> Parents and kids age 10 and under can celebrate the New Year with fun, games and more from 10:30 a.m. – noon. Pinballz will have crafting tables set up for children to make and decorate their own projects to take home. Supplies and light snacks will be provided (while supplies last, drinks will be available at Mikki’s Replay Cafe), along with $5 in Pinballz Arcade tokens. Everyone is invited to stay and play as long as they like. Cost is $10 per child. This event sells out, call 512-420-TILT for more information.

New Year’s Eve Kids Party at Austin’s Park N Pizza -> From 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., your family can ring in the New Year with party favors, face painting and balloon drops at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Cost for ALL DAY Unlimited Fun is $14.95 – $21.95, which includes unlimited buffet, fountain drinks and all attractions except for the Batting Cages & Arcade. Buffet closes at 8 p.m. Enjoy go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, the rock wall, the Skate 360 and more!

Family Friendly New Year’s Show with The Eggmen -> Enjoy an early family friendly show from 6 – 7:30 p.m. with The Eggmen, 12-time winners of the Austin Chronicle Music Awards and coveted Beatles tribute band! Tickets are $12 for 18 and under and $18 for adults. Buy them here.

Circus Chickendog Presents: The Mutt-Cracker (SWEET) at the Vortex -> Experience this traditional holiday classic with a Circus Chickendog twist, featuring six rescued circus dogs, a performing parrot, 15-time International Competition Gold Medalist Juggler, circus balancing acts, accordion-playing on a unicycle, a 5-foot tall unicycle, cowboy rope tricks, puppets and a live jazz piano rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite”. And it’s all done in 55 minutes to enthrall even a toddler! Tickets are $10 for children and $20 for adults. Buy them here.

Silvesterparty! New Year’s Dance at Austin Saengerrunde -> Put on your dancing shoes, Cloverleaf will fill the air with music that will make you waltz into 2015. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members, kids 12 and under are free. Ticket includes German beer wine and a champagne toast and breakfast tacos at midnight. Get your tickets here. MORE INFO. — Austin’s New Year (ANY 2015) at Butler Park -> Austin’s New Year celebrations this year will transform Butler Park into a smorgasbord of entertainment and foodie favorites. Ring in the New Year at the City of Austin’s free, family-friendly, community celebration! Adults and kids are encouraged to Play, Make, and Glow in Butler Park with interactive art projects, outdoor film screenings, and plenty of music – including Brownout, Mother Falcon,Peelander-Z, and Riders Against the Storm. And don’t miss the exciting fireworks finale at 10 pm! Family-friendly entertainment will include an interactive deejay booth, onsite screen printing, Nerdy Derby races, Polka Dot disco party, Dance It Yourself Nutcracker, and a making station to build a half Godzilla/robotic Hello Kitty! Noon Year’s Eve Party at Round Rock Library -> The Round Rock Public Library will host a “Noon” Year’s party from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children ages 3 and above are welcome to join the fun in Meeting Room C for crafts, dancing, and a fun countdown to noon.

Noon Year’s Eve at Lake Travis Community Library -> Can’t stay awake for the midnight fireworks? Join us at 11:45 a.m. to celebrate the new year at noon! There will be crafts, snacks, and a countdown to the 12 o’clock hour.

Free Magic Show with Chris Walden at Highland Mall -> Enjoy a free, 45-minute magic show, suitable for children of all ages, from Chris Walden at 1 p.m. Magic show is hosted by Fantastic Magic Camp!

LIGHTS You Can Still See:

The Zilker Holiday Tree at Zilker Park -> Remains lit until midnight on New Year’s Eve! Free.

Holiday Light Shows at the Domain -> Watch the holidays come to life with hourly light shows in the Domain II through Wednesday, Dec. 31. More than 82,000 lights and 2,200 strobes will dance to holiday music at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Free.

Christmas Light Show at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters -> The choreographed light show will start at 6 p.m. and play every hour, on the hour, until midnight through Sunday, Jan. 4. The show lasts 15 minutes. Grab a coffee and enjoy! Free.

 

New Year’s Day

Annual Barton Springs Polar Bear Splash at Barton Springs -> Take the plunge into the cool 68-degree waters of Barton Springs. Join the Save Our Springs Alliance outside the gate at 10 a.m. for free coffee and donuts, and, as always, the annual commemorative long-sleeve tees. Admission to Barton Springs does apply, but it’s only $1 for kids and $3 for adults! Don’t forget your warm clothes for when you get out.

FREE New Year’s Day Fun:

Pfreeze Pflop at Scott Mentzer Pool -> Starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until the last brave soul goes down the slide. The pool isn’t heated. Admission is free with donation of a canned food item given to benefit local food banks.

Polar Bear Plunge at El Salido Pool -> Bring the family to El Salido Pool from 12 – 1:30 p.m. and take a dip in the heated pool (82 degrees). Free!

New Year’s Day Parade with Minor Mishap Marching Band at Doug Sahm Hill -> From 2 – 3:30 p.m., rock out with the Minor Mishap Marching Band and start the year off with music, community, dancing and joy. Check here before heading to the parade, as the weather outlook is rather unpleasant.

—  Free Magic Show with Peter the Adequate at Highland Mall -> Enjoy a free, 45-minute magic show, suitable for children of all ages, from Peter the Adequate at 2 p.m. Magic show is hosted by Fantastic Magic Camp!

BONUS Weekend Fun:

New Year’s Lock-In at Blazer Tag -> Party all night with unlimited laser tag, trivia questions, raffle prizes and other fun activities for $21.95 per person. Check-in is Jan. 2 at 11 p.m., party starts at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 3 and pick up is 7 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3. Get your ticket here.
