The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and C3 Presents have brought such a stunning illuminated installation to Austin! Field of Light features 28,000 stemmed spheres that are lit by solar powered fiber-optics, and fills the Center’s 16-acre Arboretum area with this beautiful intersection of art, technology and nature. The Field of Light installation celebrates the nature of this Central Texas landscape while providing an awesome immersive experience for guests of all ages to enjoy!

Each night at dusk, the Field of Light magic hour will take full effect. As thousands of bulbs begin to light up the ground during sunset — a can’t miss visual wonder!

Field of Light comes from highly acclaimed British artist, Bruce Munro, who is best known for large-scale light-based artworks inspired by his study of light and his curiosity about shared human experiences. Munro creates art that captures his responses to literature, music, science and the world around him. His work has been commissioned by and displayed in special exhibitions in galleries, parks, grand estates, cathedrals, botanical gardens and museums around the globe.

Schedule & Tickets: Field of Light debuts at the Wildflower Center on September 9, 2022 and will be on display through December 2022. Choose from General Admission or VIP ticket options. You can select a date and evening entry window when purchasing tickets online here. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Wildflower Center. Tickets for kids ages 4-10 are $20.
