Early in May, you Star Wars fans were spreading the message of “May the Fourth be with you!”, and now you can wrap up the month with more Star Wars fun at a free screening of The Empire Strikes Back. On Wednesday, May 27, head over to the Yarborough Branch of the Austin Public Library for a free showing of the film at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Did you know that the Yarborough Branch was once a movie theater? It opened as The Americana, a state-of-the-art theater, in April 1965. When it closed in April 1987, it was the last single-screen theater in Austin. The building reopened as the Yarborough Library in January 1999.
