From Austin with Love: Ways to Support Texas Flood Relief

It’s difficult to witness such devastating loss in the communities just beyond our city limits. Recent flooding across Central Texas has claimed lives, upended homes, and left countless families facing heartbreak and uncertainty.

The tragedy at Camp Mystic has reverberated far beyond the Hill Country. For generations, this beloved summer camp has held a special place in the hearts of many Austin families. As the search continues and loved ones face unimaginable loss, our thoughts are with everyone affected.

At Do512 Family, we normally focus on fun, lighthearted ideas for enjoying time with your kids in and around Austin. But sometimes showing up for our community means taking a pause to acknowledge the hard things, and finding ways—even small ones—to lend a hand.

If you’re looking for ways to help but don’t know where to start, we’ve compiled a list of meaningful opportunities to support flood recovery efforts across Central Texas. Whether you donate, share a link, or attend a local fundraiser, every action matters.

Some of the resources below are for donations, and others are for spreading the word or supporting those providing direct relief. Every gesture of kindness counts.

Ways to Help:

  • H-E-B Central Texas Pop-Ups – Starting July 8, H-E-B is distributing recovery kits, cleaning supplies, food, and more at locations in Leander, Liberty Hill, and Burnet. While not a direct donation opportunity, sharing this info may help someone in need. Learn more
  • Greater Austin YMCA is offering free counseling both in-person and via telehealth. To schedule, select a counselor on their website and choose “Flood Support” from the drop-down options.
  • Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country – This local foundation has set up a dedicated Hill Country Flood Relief Fund to support families and organizations affected by the storms. Donate here

Support Through Local Austin Businesses:

Many Austin-area restaurants, coffee shops, and bars are stepping up to support flood relief in creative, heartfelt ways. These businesses are donating proceeds, hosting supply drives, and organizing fundraisers, making it easy for families to pitch in by simply grabbing a meal, a coffee, or a treat.

We’ll continue to update this page as more local efforts arise. If you know of a Central Texas business or organization hosting a fundraiser or collecting donations, please send it our way so we can share.

We’re sending love and strength to all those impacted, and we’re so proud to live in a community that shows up for one another when it matters most.
