Parents, we realize it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind of playdates, school, diapers, bedtime hissy-fits. And it’s easy to feel out of touch. Friday, October 2:

Rock & Bowl Club House @ Austin Saengerrunde, 9 p.m.
Fun Fun Fun Fest’s pop up Rock n’ Bowl Club House will feature live performances by Shannon & The Clams, Cool Ghouls, and Rock Candy DJ. In an ode to Dazed & Confused’s legendary Emporium, we’ll be transforming Saengerrunde Hall into a wonderland of youthful tomfoolery. From the moment you enter, your senses will be treated to a smorgasbord of Fun Fun Fun style over-stimulation. Free bowling at their epic mid-century bowling alley, free vintage video games, photo booth, make out zones, a black light chill out room, and of course all the rock n’ roll, power pop, and punk you can handle. $10 in advance here.

TV on the Radio @ Emo’s, 10 p.m.
Take advantage of the artists in town for Austin City Limits Music Festival at the late night shows. Catch TV on the Radio at Emo’s. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online here.

A Tribute to the Booty @ Empire Control Room and Garage, 9 p.m.
Go dance at a monthly Party/Jam with your hosts Riders Against the Storm (RAS) rocking the mic and dance floor. At Body Rock they keep Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Dancehall, New Jack Swing, Latin, etc. in HEAVY rotation. Feel the vibe! Free!

Saturday, October 3:

alt-J w/ San Fermin @ Austin Music Hall, 9 p.m.

Bad Example Sketch Comedy @ The New Movement Theatre, 9 p.m.
The New Movement’s own sketch troupe, Bad Example, will be debuting an all-new hour of comedy every Saturday night. No repeat sketches, no cutting corners, just a full hour of brand-new sketch comedy. Tickets are $7 online and $10 at the door. It’s also a BYOB venue!

Sunday, October 4:

The Suffers & the Tontons @ C-Boys Heart and Soul, 9 p.m.
The Suffers are a ten-piece band from Houston, TX who are redefining the sound of Gulf Coast Soul, intertwining elements of Classic American Soul with Rock & Roll. Go see them for a free show with the Tontons! RSVP here.

Chicken Shit Bingo @ Ginnys Little Longhorn Saloon, 4 p.m.
For many years on Sundays, Austin locals have scurried up Burnet Road for a “keep it weird” version of Bingo that involves chickens, chicken feed, and what happens after chickens eat. For $2 you can play a round of bingo and hope to be the lucky winner as you also enjoy some live music in a honky tonk atmosphere.
