In family-friendly Round Rock, you’ll find a fun indoor play center that takes glow-in-the-dark to the next level. With glow mini golf, laser tag, themed party rooms and an arcade, Monster Mini Golf sure has plenty of excitement in store for guests of all ages.
With the word “monster” in the title, we weren’t really sure what to expect on our first visit, but have no fear about things being too scary. You’ll find a very quirky atmosphere with some funny animated monsters and a lot of really unique & creative black-lit artwork that pays homage to Austin celebrities and iconic locations. The look of the space has more of a Disneyland Haunted Mansion vibe than anything truly frightening, and is designed for all ages to enjoy.
On our first visit to Monster Mini Golf we were entranced by the glowy decor, but it was honestly the friendliness of the staff that made a huge impact on our experience. We had the chance to meet owners Brian and Amy Smith who gave us a little background about their decision to open the facility. One of their sons has Asperger’s syndrome and struggles to acclimate with new places and things, and one of his “icebreakers” when he was uncomfortable was to play mini golf. Their family tried out the local mini golf options in the area, but decided to venture into this hobby that’s near and dear to their family with their own franchise of the Monster Mini Golf business. Most important in the decision-making process was to offer an indoor mini golf center since Texas is simply just too hot in much of the summertime. What can you expect at Monster Mini Golf?
Laser Tag: Our kiddos love laser tag! We’ve tested out and played in many a local laser tag arena in our day, but this one was a top favorite. The design of the layout is really cool, very spacious (2800 square feet), and offers lots of places to duck down and pop around corners. Up to 20 players can play at the same time, and the ages in our group ranged from 6 to 73. Even Grandpa had a really great time! In addition to the Laser Tag arena, there’s also a popular Laser Maze challenge attraction to check out in the arcade.
Mini Golf: The 18-hole miniature golf course is not like any we’d ever been to. The black light course features fun animatronics, very interesting artwork, a disco ball, and fun dance music, too. What’s also unique here is that during your golf game, you’ll be invited to participate in trivia challenges and other fun on-course activities to win prizes.
Arcade Games: Play a wide-range of games to win prizes. Try classics like Skee Ball or newer arcade options and check out a popular Laser Maze challenge attraction, too.
Birthday Parties: Of course, Monster Mini Golf loves to host birthday parties, team events, and group outings. The dedicated hosts, called “Memory Makers”, stay with the party the entire time, play age-appropriate games with the kids, serve the food, cut & serve the cake and lead the groups into the laser tag arena or onto the mini golf course. With cleanup included, too, it makes it easy for parents to be able to have a relaxing, stress-free experience that they can enjoy with family and friends. Click here to learn about party packages.
Monster Mini Golf was a definite hit with our family! They offer plenty of weekly specials such as Twisted Tuesdays where everyone pays a child’s price on mini golf games. Click here to view pricing, hours and special promotions. Be sure to visit their Facebook page to stay up-to-date on any news.
