It’s that time to gather in the streets, parks, thrift stores and coffee shops to hear brass bands, marching bands and European Klezmer and Balkan music. HONK! TX is back! The free, community-driven festival is bringing more than 30 bands to venues throughout SoCo, Adams Park/Hemphill Park neighborhood and East Austin so that we all can get down to their fun music this weekend, Mar. 21 – 23.

Family friendly festivities will kick off Friday, Mar. 21 with shows going on at Jo’s Coffee, the Snack Bar and St. Vincent de Paul from 6 – 10 pm. Eighteen bands will play, all for free!

The fun will continue Saturday, Mar. 22 from 11:30 am – 8 pm in the Adams Park/Hemphill Park Neighborhood, near 29th and Fruth St. (the area surrounding Spider House). All of these shows are free as well!

The event will wrap up Sunday, Mar. 23 with a family friendly parade in East Austin from 12 – 2 pm, followed by the annual all-band blowout revue from 2:30 – 5:30 pm where bands will have 8 minutes to strut their stuff. The route will begin and end at Pan-American Park.
