We recently heard about some upgrades to the seating over the the iPic® Theaters in The Domain, and we have to admit we were very intrigued by the promise of “a new level of luxury moviegoing experience”. The redesigned auditoriums feature semi-private seating pods with reclining chaise lounges, pillows, plush blankets and dining service at the touch of a button. Needless to say, we were pretty excited when they invited us to come for a screening of Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms to check out this fancy new remodel for ourselves.
We parked in a free nearby lot within The Domain and enjoy the holiday lights, illuminated Christmas trees, and even spotted Santa on our way in. It was our first time visiting an iPic®, and we immediately realized that this was a lot more chic than a traditional movie theater. One of our kids exclaimed that it felt like we just stepped into a “fancy hotel”, and it really did. There’s a bar, pool table and swanky seating in the lobby area of the theater. The moms in our group took quick note that this is a fantastic spot for a future date night.
When we were ushered to our “Premium Plus seating Pod”, you could hear us literally “oohing and ahhing” about how nice it was! These seating pods are built for two and offer a really intimate experience. We were told that they are designed for state-of-the-art acoustic technology for superior sound quality while watching the films, which is awesome, but honestly we were just eager to get comfy cozy in the plush seats.
Within each pod, you’ll find two leather seats that fully recline at the touch of a button, as well as pillows and soft blankets so you can lay back and relax like a true VIP! Each pod is encapsulated by a curved enclosure so you feel pretty tucked away from the rest of the theater and can focus on your companion, the food & drinks, and the film, of course.

With a push of a button on the swivel table in front of us, we were able to alert a server any time we wanted to order food or drinks. (Check out the menu.)
As promised, this movie-going experience really was much more luxurious than any we’d had before. With such attention to comfort and service, it was well beyond our expectations. It’s a great option for a special occasion treat for one-on-one time with your child and makes for the ultimate spot for a great date night.
