If you’re looking for a mini vacation within a short drive of Austin, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts offer some good, old-fashioned family fun! With seven different locations in Texas (many more across the U.S.A), you can choose to camp or enjoy a cabin or RV stay all while packing your days with plenty of activities geared towards kids. Our own Do512 Family team had the wonderful opportunity to check out two local Jellystone properties. One of our families headed out for a weekend at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Guadalupe River property in Kerville, while another of our team members took her family to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort Hill Country in Canyon Lake. Read on for vacation highlights from each location.

Take note that Jellystone Park™ Guadalupe River is the recent recipient of three 2022 Campspot Awards in the Top Campgrounds in The USA, Top Campgrounds For Families, and Top Camping Sites categories.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Guadalupe River – Kerville
We had a blast with our family of four! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The weekend we were there, there was a grand opening ceremony for two new slides, complete with Yogi, Boo-Boo, & Cindy Bear, a mermaid, and stilt walker also. We played at the playscape that was under the trees next to the Guadalupe River. The onsite restaurants weren’t open yet, but we enjoyed live music and games in the rec center, and we rented big wheel trikes to cruise around the grounds. We also loved the pool and ginormous splash pad. Everyone in the family (including the grown-ups) had a blast with all the water features — cannons, buckets of water to tip over, water guns, etc. We would definitely go back with the family for a visit!

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort Hill Country
We decided to take Grandpa along with the 3 kiddos for an early Father’s Day trip, and Jellystone Park was a hit for ALL ages! The Hill Country Cabins are new, clean and very comfortable with ample bedding to fit us all. We appreciated having our own kitchen for family meals, and the kids thought it was so fun to stay in something that resembled a “tiny house”. Our very favorite park attractions were mini-golf (we played at least 6 rounds) and the Wild West-themed laser tag arena. So fun! We all got a workout on the giant jumping pillow, and the kids really loved splashing in the Water Zone. Other highlights were gem-mining, the scavenger hunt, and the “Hey Hey” rides that take you around the grounds by tractor. We also tried to take advantage of the fun events that were planned in the Hill Country Hall such as Candy Bar Bingo, an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast, and even a Family Hoedown (kids dance party). The whole family had such a great time. In fact, the youngest in our family declared it “the most fun ever.”
