We love that Kalahari Resort and Conventions is open for waterpark play year-round. With the grand opening of their brand new outdoor waterpark, Kalahari Round Rock introduced a children’s play area with nine slides, an adult swim-up bar, a 900-foot Adventure River, and more for your family to enjoy during these hot Austin summers (and into fall)!
We had so much fun exploring Kalahari’s outdoor expansion, and soon, their outdoor and indoor waterparks will combine to give guests access to both. Brandon Wise, Kalahari’s spokesperson, says the new outdoor park was designed with all ages in mind. There’s Bugs Burrow for the younger kids, a pool with basketball for the older kids, and a place for mom and dad to relax in the cabanas, the Thirsty-Turtle swim-up bar, or lounge chairs to watch their kids enjoy splashing the day away.
We also love that there are lifeguards everywhere you turn at Kalahari, and Wise says it’s Kalahari’s goal to go above and beyond standard regulations to prioritize safety. “There’s not a spot [the lifeguards] can’t see”, says Wise, and kids under 48″ are required to wear a life vest for extra safety.
With fun and safety out of the way, we next explored the tasty food at the outdoor park. From the kids’ menu, we loved the mac and cheese and chicken tenders, and while we couldn’t get enough of those tasty dishes, we also went back for seconds of the street corn and sliders.
There are multiple ways to visit Kalahari’s waterparks:
- day passes (and deeper discounts for day passes after 5 pm)
- stay the night for a little getaway
You can also check out Kalahari’s summer special: use the promo code SPLASH for up to 35% off stays at Kalahari in Round Rock this summer, but act fast, the promo is only good through the end of June.
The outdoor waterpark will be open seasonally through September 30, and you can get all the info here.
