We came across this whimsical spot while picking up some of our favorite Thai food and discovered that beloved Austin favorites Dee Dee and Veracruz All Natural had teamed up to create the gorgeous Leona Botancial Cafe & Bar. LEONA is part garden, part coffee shop, and part neighborhood hangout, with koi ponds, winding paths, lush greenery, and plenty of places to sit and relax.

The space is great for adults and kids alike, with little trails to explore, ponds filled with koi fish, and lots of shade and seating throughout the property. We also hear Bun Bun Burger will be opening onsite sometime in 2026.

At the cafe, we had a honey latte and a Thai iced tea, both excellent, and the bakery case looked delicious, though it was mostly sold out by the afternoon. One thing we especially appreciated was the mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. You can wander the gardens and enjoy the scenery (and lots of shade) when the weather is nice, then retreat to the air conditioning when the Texas heat kicks in.

We had read a few comments online about long wait times, but on a late Saturday afternoon we got our drinks quickly and waited only about 15 minutes for food. What started as a quick stop turned into a longer visit as we wandered the grounds and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
