Want to get away from it all during the holiday season, escape the crowds and find some holiday magic mixed with small town charm? Buckle the kids in the car for a short road trip to the heart of Historic Downtown Bastrop for their annual Lost Pines Christmas! This month-long celebration features a series of events for visitors of all ages. You’ll find parties, kid-friendly activities, live music, shopping and favorite occasions like the Wassil Fest, Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, and Snow Day.

Wassail Fest and Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 24, 1 – 4 p.m.
All are invited to Downtown Bastrop for the 3rd annual Wassail Fest where you’ll be served homemade hot mulled cider while you shop for those perfect gifts during American Express Small Business Saturday.

It’s a Wonderful Lost Pines Christmas Lighting Party
Saturday, November 24 – 6 – 9 p.m.
Meet at dusk in Fisherman’s Park as Downtown Bastrop lights up the holiday season! Bring the kiddos to visit with Santa, enjoy hot cocoa and watch in wonder as the 2018 Lost Pines Christmas and River of Lights comes to life. Bring your blankets and stay on to enjoy the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life on the outdoor big screen.

River of Lights
Nov. 24 – Dec. 22, nightly 6 p.m.
Enjoy the one-half-mile stroll along the Colorado River Walk that includes a tunnel of lights and a large lighted Christmas tree. You can find your way down to the River Walk from the parking lot behind the Bastrop County Museum and Visitor Center (at the intersection of Main and Pine Streets) and from the Bastrop Public Library parking lot (at the end of Spring Street). Free!

First Friday Art Walk – Lost Pines Christmas
Friday, December 7, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Downtown Bastrop’s signature monthly art event – First Friday Art Walk – is all about the Christmas cheer in December, and will be showcasing and celebrating local galleries, artists, musicians, restaurants, shops, and small businesses.

Snow Day at Fisherman’s Park

This year’s Lost Pines Christmas Snow Day brings a 100% chance of snow to Downtown Bastrop! With snow slides and a play area, friends and families can enjoy some holiday cheer and a few snowball fights. Snow Day also includes games, face painting, and balloon animals.

Lost Pines Christmas Lighted Christmas Parade
Saturday, December 8, 6 p.m.
Downtown Bastrop’s famous parade features more than 100 fanciful floats and local participants lighting up Main Street in this joyful tradition. Join family and friends for a full evening of holiday cheer.

Stocking Stuffer Saturday Saturday
December 15, all day event
Find the perfect something for everyone on your Christmas list. Join the shops, merchants and eateries of Historic Downtown Bastrop for this all-ages shopping event with holiday specials, pop-ups, treats, and live music.
