To make a visit to the Austin Trail of Lights even more magical than it already is, you can plan ahead for a fun family night out on Dec. 12 when Austin Parks Foundation presents Movie Night on the Trail! Families are welcome to enjoy a screening of the holiday classic, Home Alone at 8 p.m. But you can arrive early for some fun before the film including an ugly sweater contest at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the Trail is FREE that evening from 7-10 p.m.Grab a bag of kettle corn or one of the many food and drink options on the Trail, bring a blanket and snuggle up for to watch the movie under the stars (and millions of twinkling lights) in Zilker Park.If it’s your first time going to the Austin Trail of Lights, or if you simply want a refresher on what to expect, please read our article Everything You Need to Know About Trail of Lights for info about parking, shuttles, hours, activities and more.
Take note that General Admission is free for all guests on Dec. 12 (no GA tickets required), and it’s open from 7-10 p.m. However, if you’d like to avoid the lines and crowds, you can purchase a ZIP FAST Pass that gives you early access to the Trail at 6 p.m., an exclusive ZIP entrance, complimentary cookies and cocoa, and access to the Zilker Lounge with heated bathrooms and a seating area.
