Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will be hosting Nature Nights every Thursday from 5 – 8 pm (except July 3) until July 24. Nature Nights are fun and interactive explorations of nature at one of the most lovely and kid-friendly places in the city. This program is great fun and makes for an awesome learning experience for kids of all ages. This week celebrates Fossils!
There will be storytime in the Little House at 5:30 pm and you can dig for fossils at the Paleontological Society’s table at 6:15 pm. Dig for dinos with the Capital Area Master Naturalists and learn what a petroglyph is while exploring the Hill Country Grotto caves. The cafe will be open until 8 pm, so you can enjoy a bite to eat under the beautiful oak trees in the patio.
Thanks to H-E-B, admission to the Wildflower Center will be free all day on Nature Nights. There will be interactive presentations, as well as hikes with experts in the fields. The first 250 people at the admissions table will receive tickets to the Auditorium presentations. First come, first served. A ticket is required to get into the auditorium and will be taken at the door.
Since it is Fossil night – the price for all fossils, dinosaur kits and t-shirts will be reduced in the gift shop. Kids 12 and under will receive a free gift in the gift store! Come early if you want to get a parking spot in the lot, otherwise you can park along the street as long as you respect posted signs.
Education meets fun at the Wildflower Center. Parents can enjoy the lovely ambiance, while kiddos get a wonderful science-filled experience. Put all the Nature Nights on your calendar.
