When we started looking into places to swim indoors in Austin, we were surprised at the plethora of options. From YMCAs to high-end gyms, to hotel pools, there are plenty of places to dip your toes in the water and let the kids swim, no matter what the weather is outside.

We love that Kalahari Resort and Conventions is open for waterpark play year-round. With water slides and water play for every age, you can’t go wrong with a family day (or night) at this resort. There are multiple ways to visit Kalahari’s waterparks: day passes (discounts for day passes after 5 pm), or stay the night for a little getaway.

Junior membership is required for access to the Life Time Fitness North’s pools, but the photos of their outdoor water slides and leisure pool, as well as an indoor pool with classes for all ages and a swim team, this spot is worth looking into here.  Get all the details.

This adorable indoor water park is best for kids up to age 10.  It’s a great half-day activity to let your little ones burn off some energy.  Aptly called a micro-water park, inside this 10,000-square-foot building you’ll find interactive water play, some water slides, and a dump-bucket.  Plus, you get a free adult ticket with every child ticket ($19.99) and it’s just $4.99 for any additional adults.  More details here.

While they don’t offer free swim, we thought Toms’s Dive and Swim was worth noting here because they have a 90-degree indoor pool where kids can take swim lessons privately, or in a group, and adults can take scuba lessons and join a diving community.  Check them out here.
