Water is one of the central components of life on earth. It also happens to be really fun to play around in. Thus, the 5th Annual Colorado River Ramble & Family Water Festival makes perfect sense. To put it plainly, it’s just a good idea. Seriously, who doesn’t like to frolic around in a nice body of water? Weirdos, that’s who.
Fridays in April, starting today, April 4 through Friday, April 25, The Blue Hole Regional Park in Wimberley, TX will be home to a Concert in the Park series benefiting Friends of Blue Hole Park Foundation. Attendees are asked to make a donation of their choosing to the Foundation to gain entry to this annual event.
This weekend you can take them out to the ballgame, let ’em hang with Big Bird, see some free movies, relax on a farm with some bluegrass music, see a play and/or shop til you drop! Here are our top 10 Austin family events…
Take ’em out to the ballgame! It’s Opening Weekend for the Round Rock Express and on Sunday, Apr. 6, they’ll have a Kids Day with inflatables, a kiddie train and more!
Summer Film Camp, presented by Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program, returns in June with it’s amazing program, full of screenwriting, filmmaking and claymation workshops for ages 9 – 18. Camp will be held at St. Austin Catholic School, with sessions available from June 1 – August 1.
Next week, from Thursday, Apr. 10 – Sunday, Apr. 13, you can shop til you drop and save tons of money on all your child-related needs at the Here We Grow Again Kids Consignment Sale at the Gateway Shopping Center.
Celebrate Spring at Family First Sunday at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden on Sunday, Apr. 6 from 12 – 3 pm. Kids can participate in activities geared especially for them while checking out the gardens. This weekend features a Kimono Fashion Show, sculpture lessons and yoga.
Has your child shown an interest in creating computer games or websites? Let them explore the possibilities at the Free Coding Workshop from Hatch After School at the MakerSquare Office on Saturday, Apr. 5 from 1 – 2:30 pm.
The Summer Nature Camps at McKinney Roughs Nature Park provide the perfect away camp experience, without the away part. In week-long camp sessions divided by age groups ranging from age 5 to 15, kids get to explore the Lost Pines woods, play camp games and learn about the woods and the animals that live there.
