Summer 2020 is full of endless virtual activities as this year has really forced us to find creative ways to initiate summertime fun. But, the allure of summer break lives not behind a screen, rather in the exciting places packed with entertainment for kiddos to celebrate their break from the classroom and homework. Treat your family, and possibly your pandemic pod, to the amusement they deserve by renting your own private space for safe, summer fun!
Inspired by our friends at Round Rock Express, who are offering some very cool private rentals this summer at the Dell Diamond, we’re presenting you with a list of ideas for safe family fun below.
Many of the spaces listed below have added important COVID-19 business updates and safety guidelines to their websites. Please review this new information before booking, or contact the establishment with any questions or concerns regarding your family’s safety. As always, please wear a mask when you leave your home.
—Dell Diamond Swimming Pool Private Rental
Enjoy a dip and a view by booking the Dell Diamond’s right field swimming pool for your group this summer! Reservations are limited to 25 people per two hour time slot, at minimum. Monday – Wednesday bookings are $200 per hour plus tax while Thursday – Sunday bookings are $300 per hour plus tax. More details and booking info here.

— Dell Diamond Batting Practice
Book an exclusive batting practice experience on the field at Dell Diamond! Guests must bring their own bat and are encouraged to bring their own batting helmet and batting gloves. (Helmets are required and Dell Diamond has various sizes on-site that will be sanitized after each use.) For $300 plus tax, your group of six individuals, will receive: One hour of time at Dell Diamond with approximately 20-30 minutes of batting practice on the field via a pitching machine plus 30-40 minutes of reserved space in the ballpark. —Violet Crown Clubhouse
Once a pharmacy in the Crestview neighborhood, Violet Crown Clubhouse is now a gathering place for family and friends, its walls renovated into every child’s dream play place. While preserving its retro bones, the Clubhouse is now equipped with arcade games, an ice cream parlor, and vintage diner booths for hanging with pals. You can book this entire space for your family with their Stir Crazy Package. For $150 you get the whole place to yourself for an hour and a half, six ice creams, a big bag of popcorn, two drinks, plus access to the honor mini fridge bar. —Blue Starlite Drive-In
The drive-in is making a comeback! Blast to the past at Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In, the boutique movie theatre that just might be the resurgence of America’s favorite pastime. Featuring childhood favorites, drive-in classics, indie films, art house, cult, and Gen X/Y films, you and your movie-lover crew can experience tried and true traditional cinema. If you’re looking for a tropical day-cation, Son’s Island at Lake Placid is the place to go! Just an hour’s drive South in Seguin, you’ll find total vacay vibes and activities like swimming, kayaking, and lounging under a cozy cabana. To keep guests safe and socially distanced, the private island allows no more than eight guests per cabana. So, gather up your favorite people for a day of true blue fun in the sun!
