Rock Climbing for Kids!

Rock Climbing is a great way to experience the outdoors, give yourself a full body workout, and just have fun.  Also, it’s not just for grownups!   The Austin Rock Climbing Gym has two convenient locations in North and South Austin, and we wanted to tell you about their opportunities for kids!  From child-only climbing sessions to classes to birthday parties, ARG has many ways for you to introduce you kids to an awesome activity:

Climbing sessions for kids only (before the gym opens to the public):

Monkey Business is Austin Rock Climbing Gym’s youth program (ages 4-7,) that runs Saturdays from 9AM-10AM, and you sign up for 4 Saturdays a month.  Here’s the info:

Parties:

How cool would it be to have your child’s birthday party at a rock climbing gym?!  ARG has awesome birthday party deals including:

-Two hours of climbing

-All necessary gear (shoes and harnesses)

-Belay instruction and harnesses for parents

-Room to set up a table for cake and refreshments

(Regular party rate is $179 for 8 kids, $15 per additional partygoer, but they also have a Friday Night special, which is $159 for 8 kids, $12 per additional partygoer!)

Classes:

Want your child to get more out of their gym class?  Austin Rock Gym also has a P.E. waiver class recognized by A.I.S.D. (for 7th grade – High School) that they can enroll in!  More info can be found here.

Team Rock Climbing:

Both North and South Locations have competitive climbing for kids 12 and under, and 13 and older.  For a schedule and information on rates and how to sign up, check out their page.

Austin Rock Gym provides popular summer camps for kids, and they apparently fill up pretty quickly, so get a head start on registering!
