The Round Rock Express has a fun way to keep the kids motivated to read this spring! Children of all reading levels, ages 12 and under, are invited to join Spike’s Reading Challenge for the chance to win free baseball game tickets for this summer.

From now through Friday, May 15, 2020, kids can log their reading hours to receive two (2) general admission outfield lawn tickets to the Round Rock Express game on Sunday, July 5, 2020.
Not only will each reading log submission receive tickets, but at the game on July 5, additional prizes will be awarded for readers who reach specific reading milestones. These include…

  • Level One (25 hours): Child can select a small prize
  • Level Two (50 hours): Child can select a large prize
  • Level Three (75 hours): Child can participate in a pregame parade
  • Level Four (125 hours): Child can be on the field for the National Anthem
  • Top reader (most hours) from all submissions: Child can call “Play Ball” before the start of the game

Please note that prizes are cumulative; so for example, a child that reads 50 hours will get to select both a small and large prize!

Get Started: Visit the RRExpress website for full details on Spike’s Reading Challenge. There you can download your reading log, as well as find coloring sheets and Spike’s storytime videos, too. Also, stay tuned to the Express Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels for more ways to participate.

We think this Reading Challenge is a great addition to our at-home learning experiences, and we hope your kids are excited to take part in this motivational activity! Happy Reading!
