2nd Annual Barton Springs Fest

This weekend, Save Our Springs Alliance hosts a full day of fun at Austin’s beloved Barton Springs at the 2nd Annual Barton Springs Fest. Come and celebrate the day in 1992 when the City Council adopted the citizen-initiated Save Our Springs Ordinance with eco-tours, poetry, kids activities, live music, and – of course – a dip in the sweet, cool waters of the springs.

Mother Earth Day Festival at The Springs

Mother’s Day is this weekend and you’ll have a chance to celebrate the ULTIMATE mom this Friday, May 9 at the Mother Earth Day Festival from 9 am – 1 pm in Zilker Park near the Barton Springs pool! We love our city and love any opportunity to learn more about how to take care of it, it’s important we pass it on to our kids.

Bats and Barton Springs Poetry Workshop

Time to get those little Shakespeares-in-training busy writing, and what better topic about which to wax poetic than batty bats? On Saturday, Jan. 18 from 9 am – 12 pm, bring your 11 – 14 year-old kiddos to the Austin American Statesman HQ for the Bats and Barton Springs Poetry Workshop. Kids will learn about bats from local bat experts and get a chance to write some nature poetry. This FREE workshop ends at Barton Springs, where they won’t swim but will capture some deep thoughts on Austin’s favorite swimming hole. Registration required.
