See some amazing magic and comedy on Saturday, July 19 at the Scottish Rite Theater for the Magic at the Capitol show. The 2 pm show is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 7 pm performance!

It’s a Frozen Weekend!

This weekend, your family will have three opportunities to have Frozen-themed fun. You can see the movie for free, ice skate to Disney tunes and hang with Olaf, and enjoy a day of Frozen activities at a toy store.

Summer Nature Camps at McKinney Roughs Nature Park

The Summer Nature Camps at McKinney Roughs Nature Park provide the perfect outdoor camp experience. In week-long sessions divided by age groups ranging from age 5 to 15, kids get to explore the Lost Pines woods, play camp games and learn about the woods and the animals that live there. Campers will learn wilderness survival skills and go rafting on the Colorado River. Older campers will experience more advanced nature science studies as well as personal and team building challenges, and teenagers can learn the skills of a naturalist and outdoor leader.

Colorado River Alliance Redbud Center Guided Tours

The Colorado River Alliance is a nonprofit group that is dedicated solely to the conservation and protection of the Texas Colorado River. They offer educational programs during the school year, and in the summer, they take families on guided tours of the LCRA Redbud Center. These tours are interactive, incredibly informative (Did you know all the lakes in Austin are man made?!), and FREE!

POSTPONED: Sound & Cinema: “E.T.” with Henry + the Invisibles

**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO TUESDAY, JULY 22**

Sound & Cinema will continue on Tuesday, July 22 at the Long Center with a free screening of “E.T.” and a performance from Henry + the Invisibles. The fun starts around 6 pm and will continue until about 10:30 pm.

Austin Steam Train – REVIEW

The Austin Steam Train offers rides through the Hill Country year round in fully restored coaches dating back to the 1920s. Departing from Cedar Park, the train has various routes to choose from. Its most popular route this summer is a ride to Burnet County and back with a 15-minute stop off in the town of Bertram, where riders can walk through a fully restored 1912 train depot, complete with old typewriters and luggage from the era.
