While many Texans are excited that most State Parks have reopened across Texas, before you start dreaming of your next big outdoor adventure, please take note that there are still a few limitations to keep in mind for your park visits…

  • Most parks are open for the day. Parks are not open for camping at this time.
  • You must reserve and print day passes before you arrive, even if you have a park pass. Parks will not conduct any transactions on-site.
  • All park headquarters, visitor centers, park stores and group sites (halls, campsites, etc.) are closed.
  • Face coverings are required in state parks.
  • Six-foot social distancing is required.
  • Gathering of groups is limited to no more than five people.

For more info to help you plan your park visit, please read the latest news on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website, and be sure to make your reservation before you go.

  • Backyard camping ideas
  • Outdoor tent and indoor fort set up

  • Virtual and backyard fire building
  • Dutch oven cooking and camping snacks
  • Night sky
  • Buffalo Solider history
  • Fishing tips and identification
