What we love most about the local brewery scene is that so many spots have designated themselves as family-friendly. If you’re a parent who’s a beer lover (or if you’re a foodie!), you can bring the tots along with you while you kick back and relax — of course, with a designated driver at the ready.

We’ve combined our research with reader recommendations to present you with our list of Best Family-Friendly Breweries Around Austin.

This HUGE space in Southeast Austin is a great spot to bring along the kids and meet up with friends. You’ll find a great playground, tons of picnic tables, a great menu, and even an on-site ice cream truck. They have a variety of fun events, such as music concerts and movie nights so be sure to keep an eye on their website’s calendar of events.

Fitzhugh Brewing
15435 Fitzhugh Road
Fitzhugh Brewing has a gorgeous playscape and this this brewery is super kid-friendly and dog-friendly.  At Fitzhugh, you’ll find a great selection of beer and wine, as well as kid (and grown-up) favorites like Bavarian-style pretzels, queso, mac and cheese, and so much more. Austin Beerworks
3001 Industrial Terrace
Located in North Austin, this popular spot might be a little smaller than some of these other sprawling hill country breweries, but they are certainly family-friendly and have a cute little play area for young kiddos. Big kids can play board games with you at one of the many outdoor picnic tables.

This family-owned brewery is worth the drive to Dripping Springs to relax on their 15 acres of shaded hill country property. Enjoy 15 rotating craft beers on draft, live music, outdoor games such as horseshoes, corn hole, and bocce ball, a playground for the kids, and cajun cuisine from Jep’s Southern Roots food truck. Oddwood Brewing

This family-friendly brewery has a vintage game room and a pizza kitchen that serves thin-crust personal pies, in addition to a well-rounded menu complete with a dedicated kids’ menu — even Luigi’s Italian Ice, which is sure to be a hit.  For the grown-ups, you’ll find lagers, ales, sours, guest beer selections, and wine. The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company (ABGB) is a great place to hang out in South Austin. This is an all-ages, pet-friendly venue with big picnic tables for easy outdoor drinking and dining. The ABGB philosophy is “Beer Makes It Better”, and their craft brews are worth sampling. Head over for a happy hour, dive into their great food menu, and stick around for live music (some early shows start at 6:30 pm).

This farmhouse brewery in Southwest Austin is a definite favorite among parents. With great pizza onsite and lots of outdoor space, yard games, and all the goats, it’s a good spot to keep the kiddos happy.

Beerburg Brewing
13476 Fitzhugh Rd.
Just down the road from Jester King, you’ll find Beerburg Brewing. On 15 acres of land, this sprawling location includes an outdoor beer garden, an onsite dog park, sites for future gardens, and a large indoor taproom and live music every Friday evening. Their beer features locally foraged ingredients, and their onsite restaurant Taqueria la Violeta serves up traditional Interior Mexican street food. At Beerburg, all are welcome including four-legged friends and kids of all ages.

With a real neighborhood vibe, this beer garden is a great place to spend some time. In addition to their selection of beers, you’ll also find coffee and sodas, the Soursop food truck, live music, and lots of outdoor seating for the kids. food truck,

The kids love going to Pinthouse for pizza and the small selection of vintage arcade games. We love the open seating, casual vibes, and award-winning craft brews. Pop into any of their four local locations.

12 Fox Beer Co.
4700 W Fitzhugh Rd, Dripping Springs
This craft brew pub in Dripping Springs has been recommended by many readers, and it sounds like a fantastic spot with a huge lawn, a playscape, food trucks, beer, wine, cider, live music, and more. It’s kid and dog, friendly too.

Rentsch Brewery

Georgetown’s only craft brewery has something unique going on one of them is run entirely on wind and solar power making our production 100% renewable — one of only a handful in the world. They feature Old World German and New World American-style beer but also serve several non-alcoholic beverages including lemonade & kombucha. The beer garden has plenty of room for the whole family, with yard games outdoors and board games indoors.

Vista Brewing is one of Hill Country’s newer destinations offering world-class beer and local cuisine, all in a family-friendly environment. The 21-acre property offers plenty of shade, outdoor picnic tables, tree swings, a stage for live music, and a kids’ playground area with plenty of room for the kiddos to roam while mom and dad enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine.

For a great option to our South, Roughhouse Brewing offers a fun, outdoor experience with plenty of picnic tables, shade trees, tiny play area, and is a family-run business that welcomes families with kids of all ages.

  1. I’d throw Oddwood Ales in there too! Both in a part of town that’s filling up with families (just next to Mueller and Windsor Park) as well as being literally kid friendly: free video games and pizza!

  2. ABGB has no kids items on the menu and has no changing tables. I would state that there are lots of kids there but this is a dog friendly place and not a kid friendly place. No play ground and kids are not allowed at the bar. They serve pizza by the slice.
