When it comes to craft beers, Austinites sure know a thing or two. With a seemingly infinite number of local breweries in the surrounding area, there’s no shortage of great places to grab a frosty pint with a pal. But what about breweries that you can take the kids to?

What we love about the local brewery scene is that so many spots have designated themselves as family-friendly! If you’re a parent who’s a beer lover, you can bring the tots along with you while you kick back and relax — of course, with a designated driver at the ready.

With a wee bit of our own research and some reader recommendations, we present to you our list of Best Family-Friendly Breweries Around Austin

Family Business Beer Company  (Dripping Springs)
This family-owned brewery is worth the drive to Dripping Springs to relax on their 15 acres of shaded hill country property. Enjoy 15 rotating craft beers on draft, live music, outdoor games such as horseshoes, corn hole and bocce ball, a playground for the kid, and cajun cuisine from Jep’s Southern Roots food truck. Keep track of their music schedule on their Facebook page.

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company (ABGB) is a great place to hang in South Austin. This is an all ages, pet friendly venue with big picnic tables for easy outdoor drinking and dining. The ABGB philosophy is “Beer Makes It Better”, and their craft brews are definitely worth sampling. Head over for happy hour, dive into their great food menu and stick around for live music (some early shows start at 6:30 p.m.)

Jester King Brewery
This farmhouse brewery in Southwest Austin, is a definite favorite among parents. With great pizza from Stanley’s Farmhouse onsite and lots of outdoor space, yard games and a sand area, it’s a good spot to keep the kiddos happy.

The kids love going to Pint House for pizza and the small selection of vintage arcade games. We love the open seating, casual vibes and award-winning craft brews. Pop in to either their South or North/Central locations.

Rentsch Brewery – (Georgetown)
Georgetown’s only craft brewery has something unique going on — it is run entirely on wind and solar power making our production 100% renewable, one of only a handful in the world. They feature Old World German and New World American style beer but also serve several non-alcoholic beverages including lemonade & kombucha. The beergarden has plenty of room for the whole family, with yard games outdoors and board games indoors.
