Looking for some indoor fun? Check out an immersive art installation! With amazing lights and sounds, this is surely a unique activity to try with the family. This Is Mesmerize is an exhibit that invites you to explore and play in an art adventure. Not your average art gallery, this is set up at Native Hostel (807 East 4th St.) and is filled with “cosmic curiosities” and a great spot to capture some Instagram-worthy photos.

The experience follows the journey of tinkerer and artist-turned-explorer, Mesmer, who one day discovers a secret: we are not alone. Unlocking a portal to the parallel universes, Mesmer spent eons exploring these worlds, finding comfort and inspiration in their depth, wildness, and striking similarities to what we know and believe to be true about the world. In this installation, you’ll find that Mesmer has left the portal open for all to explore. Journal entries and sketches were left behind in each world for you to see.

This Is Mesmerize is a self-guided experience that is open to all ages. You can reserve a timed ticket for $25 that allows you an hour in the exhibit. For COVID-19 safety, masks must be worn at all times and no more than 15 people are inside at once, allowing for social distancing. For more info about health and safety precautions, please read their FAQ.

Take note that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and it’s free for children ages 3 and under.
