Love is in the air… already?!? Valentine’s Day isn’t for a couple of more weeks, but if you and your little ones want to start early, you can! There are lots of fun Valentine-themed activities happening this weekend, check ’em out!

Friday, Feb. 7

— The Daddy Daughter Dance at the Cedar Park Recreation Center will be from 6 – 8 pm. Take your little princess out for a night of dancing, carriage rides and light refreshments. Each daughter will receive a flower and a photo. Online registration has closed so call the rec center at 512-401-5516, hurry, there are only 2 spots left. Cost is $20.

— Ages 13 and up will learn to create beautiful, unique Valentine’s treats at the Cookie Decorating Class at Central Market Cooking School. Teenagers will make cookie dough and learn to ice, glaze and decorate cookies with borders and elegant flowers. Class is from 6:30 – 9:30 pm and costs $65, you can register online here.

Saturday, Feb. 8

— Come to FriendFest at Central Market North for a day of crafting friendship bracelets, valentines, cookie decorating and sweet treat tastings. This event is put on by Creative Action, our favorite after school and summer camp organization. Do512 Family is a proud sponsor of this event and we will be there handing out treats, so come say hi! There will be music from Seu Jacinto, a friendship parade and more. Free, from 11 am – 2 pm.

— Have a Daddy Play Date at Toybrary Austin from 10:30 – 11:30 am where you can make a valentine for Mommy! Dads and their daughters will make an artistic and sentimental gift. $5 per child.

Lakeshore Learning Store will have a Free Craft for Kids session from 11 am – 3 pm where they can make a heart-shaped card holder that’s perfect for holding letters. Free, ages 3 and up, no reservations required.

Kaleidoscope Toys will have two Valentine Parties where kids can do a picture frame craft, read a valentine story, play a game and eat cookies and punch! Parties are at 2 and 3 pm, reservations are required, call 512-388-5048 to reserve your spot, $5 per child.

Make a Love Note Holder at participating Lowe’s at 10 am for their Build and Grow Clinic. Clinic is free, find your store and register here.

Sunday, Feb. 9

— Head to Austin Kula Yoga for I Heart my Family Yoga at 2 pm. This class is perfect for all ages of your family. You’ll do partner poses and learn relaxation techniques. Cost is $25 per family, save your spot and sign up online today.

— Soon-to-be parents can take a Valentines Prenatal Yoga Class for Partners, complete with brunch, at Austin Kula Yoga! The class will incorporate partner postures designed to cultivate strength and awareness. Couples will enjoy a delicious brunch after class where they can ask questions, connect with other couples and win prizes and goodies. Class is from 11 am – 1 pm and costs $125 per couple, register online today.

— Take a Family Day at Painting with a Twist and paint a Neon Heart. Get step-by-step instruction from a local artist and complete the painting from 12 – 1:30 pm. No experience necessary! You are welcome to bring in food or drinks for your kiddos. $25 per person, must register online before class.

— The Austin Tinkering School is hosting a Handmade Valentine Craft Buffet from 3 – 5 pm where you can make a pennant banner, a pop-up card, and more. A spread of valentine materials will be available so you can get creative! Cost is $25 per person, get your tickets here.
